About

Apex is an English speaking high-end PvE raiding guild on Al'Akir. Maintaining a solid PvE progress and level of achievement is the primary and only goal.

The guild was formed in June 2007, a few weeks after Black Temple was released to public. We cleared Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, Hyjal Summit and Black Temple by the end of the summer. We cleared Sunwell Plateau on 7th of June 2008, about three weeks after the final gate was opened.

We cleared heroic Naxxramas, Obsidian Sanctum and Eye of Eternity on the first week of Wrath of the Lich King.

We cleared Ulduar normal modes in three days. Defeated most encounters in hard mode before any significant nerfs and got Algalon, Celestial Defender on 5th of July. We did not, however, get Yogg-Saron, Alone in the Darkness before the nerfs nor did we get Death's Demise after the nerf.

We defeated all encounters in Trial of the Grand Crusader in two resets. We were the 8th guild in the world to defeat heroic Anub'arak.

There are about 35 raiders in our guild and a tiny party of retired ex-raiders. The average age of our members is 20+ and a lot of our players have been playing together since the release of the game.

  Raiding

Raiding is mandatory. All members are expected to raid as much as possible. Playing alts or PvP or farming etc will have to be done outside the raiding hours.

Members are required to maintain a very high raid attendance. We have a rather small roster and thus can't have players with poor availability. There is no required attendance quota; players have to be present when they are needed. Being absent may lead to ejection from the guild.

Everybody has to bring their best performance during the raids. Being late, being unprepared, slacking, excessive afking, not listening, not taking advice, being useless and pointless whining is not tolerated for very long.

  Schedule

Our raiding times are:
19:00 to 23:00 CET on the working days;
16:00 to 23:00 CET on the weekends;

We raid as much as possible when new content is available and much less if the content is on farm status. Progression mode can be 7 evenings per week. Farm status is much less - a few raids per week with the aim of clearing everything as fast as possible.

Members are required to inform the rest of the guild, if they are going to miss a raid. Being offline without any notice may eventually lead to ejection form the guild.

  Farming and Preparing

Members have to be prepared for every single raid. This means having the required consumables and being present on time. Everybody has a responsibility to do their own gold and consumable farming. Being cheap or poor is no excuse.

Nobody is going to guide or teach anybody. All players are required to research their class and the encounters on their own. Ignorance and stupidity are not tolerated.

  The Recruit

A potential recruit has to be punctual and independent enough to have a very high raid attendance. This is especially important for progression raids. The recruit has to be competitive and always trying to improve his game. We are looking for players who want to deliver flawless performance and aren't content with being average. It's also a huge plus if the player isn't afraid to talk and bring his own ideas into the fight and can grasp the whole picture.

There is no specific gear requirement. We have recruited, attuned and geared up several undergeared players in the past. But the player has to convince us that he is going to be worth the effort.

Detailed schedule. List the days and hours you are normally available. List the things that can affect your availability (job, school, friends etc). We need players who can and will prioritise raiding over other things. We can't have players who are going to be heavily occupied and unable to raid.

Brief history. Previous guilds and reasons for leaving.

PVE Experience. List all raid instances and notable bosses you have defeated. What do you like about PVE? What don't you like about PVE?

Consumables and finance. List the consumables are you going to bring to the raids. Is farming gold and consumables difficult and painstaking for you? Are you constantly broke?

Knowledge and theorycraft. Do you read theory about your class? How do you keep yourself up to date? Which sites and forums do you visit?

Tools. Name a few add-ons that are essential for your role in PVE raids. Describe your keybindings: no need for a full list, but give an overview of your most important abilities and the bindings you have chosen for them. Provide a link to a screenshot of your interface.

Report. Provide a few WWS reports or some other stats of you in action.
